Buttery and vibrant, made from only the finest pigments. W&N carefully formulate each tone for stability, tinting strength and coverage. Use them thickly with palette knives or brushes, or thin them to a very fine glaze.

Permanent Mauve is a rich violet colour. It is semi-transparent and lightfast. Mauve, originally a lake pigment, was discovered in England in 1856 by Sir William Perkin.
