About Us

 

K&M Evans Trading Ltd, better known as Evans Art Supplies, is a proud family-run business now in its fourth generation. Established in 1910 by Hugh Evans, the company has grown and evolved over more than a century while staying true to its roots.

The “K&M” in our name comes from Hugh’s daughters, Kathleen and Margaret, who represented the second generation of the business and helped shape its early development.

Evans originally began by supplying packaging materials and paper. In those early days, artists would visit to purchase newsprint—originally sold to fish and chip shops—to practice their drawings. Recognising this demand, we gradually expanded our range to include more types of paper and drawing pencils. Over time, we continued to grow, adding school and educational supplies and eventually developing a comprehensive range of fine art materials.

Today, while we still stock a selection of catering, packaging, and school supplies, our primary focus is on high-quality art materials. We are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our customers and the creative community.

Often described as an “Aladdin’s cave” by artists, students, and craft enthusiasts alike, Evans Art Supplies is proud to be the largest privately owned art store in Dublin—if not in the entire country.

We take great pride in offering an extensive catalogue of trusted brands and materials, both in-store and online, alongside the excellent, efficient, and friendly customer service that has defined our business for generations.
