ARTISTS' OIL COLOUR ALIZARIN CRIMSON
Buttery and vibrant, made from only the finest pigments. W&N carefully formulate each tone for stability, tinting strength and coverage. Use them thickly with palette knives or brushes, or thin them to a very fine glaze.
A synthetic lake pigment from the Madder plant, Alizarin Crimson was the first natural dye to be synthesised in 1868. It is a deep transparent red with a blueish undertone.
